Gymnastics classes for kindergarteners (ages 5 and 6) offer students an extracurricular activity that stimulates both the mind and body. Students in gymnastics classes learn to follow directions, take turns, and control their gross and fine motor skills.
Prerequisite: None
This class consists of five and six-year olds. Gymnasts in this class do not need any gymnastics experience. Activities will include gross motor skills that incorporate strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance. 5/6 beginner gymnastics classes use our beginner recreational equipment. Also relevant, this equipment is age and skill level appropriate and provides the safest environment for new athletes to learn their first gymnastics skills.
Lastly, skills include: forward and backward roll, cartwheel, pull over, glide swings, and straight jump. Class ratio around 8:1
Prerequisite: Mastery of 5/6 Beginner
This class consists of five, and six-year olds. Children will learn more advanced skills that incorporate strength and balance on all four apparatus.
Gymnasts in our five and six year old intermediate gymnastics class use equipment and props to further their gymnastics skill development. In addition, skills are broken down to ensure proper technical development. Conditioning and gymnastics shaping is also introduced.
Lastly, skills include: backward roll, handstand, pull over, cartwheel, walks on beam, and run to hurdle. Class ratio around 8:1.
Prerequisite: Mastery of 5/6 Intermediate
This class consists of five and six-year olds. This is an advanced class that helps gymnasts learn more advanced skills that will prepare them for our Team Development program. This gymnastics class for five and six year olds includes strength, flexibility, dance, and gymnastics skills.
Skills include: round off, back handspring, pull over, back hip circle, handstand on beam, and handstand flat back. Class ratio around 8:1.
Prerequisite: None
This class consists of students ages five to eight years. The class will focus only on tumbling (mainly round off and back handspring) and cheer jumps and motions. Also, this is a perfect class for those in cheerleading or those simply wanting to focus on the floor apparatus. Class ratio around 8:1. Students in this class practice on the floor and trampoline to learn basic to intermediate tumbling skills.
Lastly, skills include cartwheel, handstand, bridge, kick over and the introduction to back handsprings.
